Tell us about yourself
Hi, I’m Michael, and I’m from Berlin. My passion is traveling and discovering new things. I try to visit a new place at least once a year and to visit places that are not so well-known, to get to know the culture and to share it.
Why do you travel and look for adventures?
I would like to escape from the daily grind and get a fresh look at the world. The world is too diverse to only get to know it at home.
What kind of adventures do you look for when you travel?
I mostly backpack when I travel. I like to be involved in more relaxed, but also physically demanding or full activities.
What’s your go-to travel hack?
Be relaxed and patient. Not everything runs smoothly and flawlessly.
Got any gear you can’t travel without?
My camera with which I record my experiences and a power bank.
What destination are you eager to go back to?
I would like to go back to South America and revisit some places and catch up on the ones I missed.
How do you stay safe when you’re travelling?
Intuition and common sense.
What’s the best way to experience a destination like a local?
In the hostel, you make your first acquaintances. The employees are mostly local or have lived there for a while. Those are the first clue for local insider tips.

When and where are you next travelling?
In June I will visit Azerbaijan and Georgia and in autumn I will hopefully go to China.
